Hey everybody. I just wanted to apologize for my rant the other day. I was really upset and just went off. I thought about it after I calmed down and the doctor is probably just wanting the best for me and my band. I don't think there will be any problems when he talks to my shrink. I also talked to my insurance company and found out that my out of pocket maximum is $1500 plus a $300 deductible. So the only amount I will be paying out of pocket is $1800. I love it! This I can afford. I have to save up but I can do this amount. I was thinking I would have to pay something like $4000 for my part. Woohoo!! All the better for me. One step closer. I have to call my surgeon tomorrow and find out what he found out and decided. I have to trust that this is going to happen. I just need to keep praying and hoping. Things will work out for the best I am sure. They always do. Anyway, sorry about the rant.:biggrin:

That's what we're here for. Hang in there! My info went to the insurance company some time in the last week so I am waiting also.

No worries, you're allowed to rant around here.

Hope you hear good news tomorrow!

Don't apologize, the waiting and jumping through hoops part is probably the toughest part of banding. We all get frustrated at times and are here to help each other through the good and the bad.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
