bobby_hamrick 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Anyone have issues with crunches? I decided to finally include this in my routine and I feel that port in my stomach while doing these. not pain but awareness.
Alexandra 55 Posted April 13, 2005 I have no problem at all with crunches, except that I can't do them on the floor. My back bones hurt! I do them on an exercise ball and don't have any port sensation at all. Maybe I did when I started but now I don't remember. You're not hurting yourself, I'm sure, so maybe the sensation will pass? vinesqueen 2 Posted April 13, 2005 I do lots of crunches, and my port is just above my belly button... No problems a-tall!
Ezzysmom 0 Posted April 14, 2005 I am just two weeks post op. When can I start doing crunches? Or when would it be safe rather?
vinesqueen 2 Posted April 14, 2005 Amber, I started doing small amounts of crunches by the end of my second week. I don't know if you use one of the large excersize balls, but some of our folks use the ball. They find it more comfortable than the floor
princess_n_thep 2 Posted April 14, 2005 I am 3 weeks post op and just today started doing crunches with the help of the "ab roller" thingy. I must admit, I got a bit sore at the port and I only did about 40. I think I will do a day on/ day off for awhile.

Penni60 45 Posted April 17, 2005 I have both a ball and an ab lounger. I love them both and they are great for ab crunches.
