I finally had my lapband done on April 29th. I started the process in October of last year. It was done in Scottsbluff, Nebraska by Dr. Forney and Dr. Holloway. I expected it to be a month or so after I was finally appproved but they scheduled me 2 1/2 weeks later. I was a little stunned, happy and nervous all at the same time. This first week has been very interesting, but I am very happy I got it done.

Hi, David and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on getting your band and on your great start with the weightloss. You are off to an excellent start! I am still pre-op for another 3 weeks, so I can't answer your question about that icky feeling, but I do hope you get to feeling better soon!

I managed to make it home on Sunday. Rested yesterday and back to work today. Working seems to take my mind off how bad I feel. Still hurts more than I think it should but it is manageable. Lots of gas pains too. I am going to try and keep plugging away at work.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
