I have my pre-op appt on June 5th with Dr. Edwards, St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO and then was told my surgery will be either June 20th or June 27th! I am so excited to get this part over with and get on with my new life and the exciting changes I will be going through.

Dr. Edwards staff are remarkable people and have made this long process a walk in the park for me!

I just found out today I have been approved by my insurance and my surgery is scheduled for June 24th. I can't believe this is finally going to happen for me.

Good luck to everyone being banned.

OMG! I am so excited for all you "JUNIES"! June 17th seems like an eternity! Actually leaving home on the 15th to stay at a motel near the airport and flying out early A.M. on the 16th, get the Pre_op tests done and then scheduled for surgery on the 17th. Wish I was going with you earlier "June Bugs"! I decided against packing pillows. Going to travel lite. Kerry

WOW! There are quite a few of us. I should be banded in June also. I go for my final pre-op weigh in tomorrow and my nurse is pushing for me to get my approval and have my surgery before July 1st. My insurance renews on July 1st and my nurse doesn't want to take a chance of any coverage changes. Good luck to all!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
