Uh-Oh. I had my pre-op testing on Friday morning, and went to the surgeon's office for my Case Management appt yesterday. It seems there is some sort of "shadow" on the chest x-ray, so they want a Pulmonary CT scan to see if anything of concern. The nurse said it may just be a rib shadow, but just in case...

Anyone had one of these? I don't feel like I have heart problems, but I guess one never knows.

Pen:

I haven't got any experience with this, I just wanted to say that I hope everything goes well for you.

Take care.

I hope it turns out to be nothing, but definitely better safe than sorry. Good luck and let us know as soon as you do!

I'm getting ready to have plastic surgery for my saggy skin and my pre-op chest xray showed a "patchy infiltrate" on the left lung so I had to have a CT Scan. It only took about 10 minutes, was completely painless, and the "patch" turned out to be nothing of any significance. I hope you have the same good results. Good luck with your lap band too!

I had a CT urogram a few months back and it was a piece of cake.

Let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Whew! I had the CT scan on Friday morning, and it showed nothing out of the ordinary. They didn't even have to use contrast to get a clear picture, so no IV.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
