eating less and pigging out!!

Recommended Posts

hello!

I had my operation last month and I’m going to have my first fill this friday!! YEAHHHH!!! I'm ready for some action man!

Anyways i've been quite bad for the past two weeks – been doing some serious pigging out!! AHHHH!!!! I've been to all my favorite restaurants and stuffing myself with yummy food like there’s no tomorrow (almost true in my case!)

Goodness, i must have put on all the weight i lost with that dreadful liquid diet!

The good news is that i actually see a change in my eating habits! Yes I am stuffing myself – but not as much as I could before the operation - I eat LESS than half now!! Did I mention I don’t have a fill yet – lolsss!

After a small amount of delicious food I get that awful! awful! awful! pain in my back and I can’t breath!

The band just won’t allow me my “two weeks of major eating before the fill!”

But anyways I'm quite happy with this band and i just want to say YESS! YESS! YESSS! YESSS! DAMN IT! Maybe there is SOME hope and i might even LOOSE (not put on!) weight!

So glad to hear you sounding happy, a bit pink!! Be careful with that restriction, you've clearly got some. Now the trick is getting used to those smaller portions in your head, as well as your stomach.

Good luck with the fill!! :)

I hear you on the pigging out...tonight we had a Breakfast food meeting. I ordered pancakes and bacon...ate all the bacon and about 7 squares of pancakes...and was STUFFED! I promised myself that while I won't abuse the band I was not going to diet, just rethink how I eat. Now, i'm going to do a pretty vivid walk tonight to walk all that off (not that it was that much food) but I think you are on point about rethinking how you eat. Your band is your new boss as far as your stomach is concerned. As long as you follow it's lead you'll be fine.

Besides that, the pancakes were a little doughy (never quite knew what the meant or tasted like until tonight).

I'm glad your both happy with your bands. Your both doing great and have a wonderful attitude. Pink, I can totally relate about the pigging out but really eating less. I don't know how many times I have belittled myself for pigging out to find I had actually lost weight when I weighed. I love my band too! Best wishes, Teresa

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
