TWO weeks wasted, ggrrrrr......

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd be nice and wait 2 weeks before I started to pester my insurance company, and when I called yesterday, they said there wasn't a chart on me. I got upset and called my surgeons office and spoke to the insurance person and she promised me she faxed it. She said she had TWO confirmations. Blah blah blah - she called and got the same story, so we had to re-submit everything again today. I am so frustrated, I could be half way throught this process by now. Oh well, I guess I just need to hurry up and wait. Thanks for reading - I just needed to vent.:)

Yep that crap happens a lot. I bugged my insurance every two days. But when I called the first time they couldn't find my stuff either, then the next day they magically found it... interesting.. My doctor's office told my insurance that I needed to hurry up and get approved because I had my surgery set for "X" date and they approved me in 8 days. Funny thing is they totally lied just to hurry up and get me approved. LOL. But, it worked.

I had the same thing happen... I waited 3 weeks and after bugging the doctors office I called my insurance company only to be told that they showed no request for a surgeory for me...

I proceeded to call my doctors office back and they investigated and that afternoon (tuesday) they called the insurance company and we had an approval by thursday evening!!!

So now that you know that you have the ball rolling for real heres to hoping you get a speedy response :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
