"Good Food Favorites"

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have suggestions on "good foods" that would be helpful with our diet?

Does anyone know of any links to "healthy eating?"

Thanks in advance,

Kat

i really like ProtiDiet products (Protein shakes, puddings, etc). I especially LOVE their Protein cold drinks-fav. flavor is grape and green tea with cranberry. www.mydietshopz.com

i read somewhere on here about choc. covered soy nuts so i go to www.revivalsoy.com to get them (they have cal/fat, so i just have a few when i need something sweet).

i just started (yesterday) snacking once a day on live active 2% milk cheese (they are 1 oz, individually wrapped).

I don't think there are magic foods...portion control (for me) is key because if i don't measure it i'll eat it all. I'm STILL on mushies until friday so i eat 3 4oz meals a day and i just started having a snack when i need one. Right now i eat mashed potatoes for dinner because my diet is limited, but i'll have lots more protein starting friday.

hope that helps.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
