Hi, my name is Donna W. I was banded on February 13, 2007. I lost 30 lbs prior to surgery and another 30 after surgery. So, I lost a total of 60 lbs. I still needed to lose 40 more, but developed bulimea about 4 months after surgery. I am now in an eating disorder group and have stopped throwing up, but have put back on 30 lbs. I am very frustrated and mad at myself. Any body else out there struggling with the same thing or anyone who has over come it?

Hi Donna and welcome to LBT. I am so sorry that you have encountered the problems you have, but am pleased to hear you are getting the help you need. It is important for you to have as much support right now as possible. I have not had the same issues as you, but I wanted to bump this post in case there is somebody else out there who has.

My thoughts are with you and I am confident you can overcome and achieve your goals. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
