I had my lapband on April 8th. I am not doing to bad except for my breathing. The dr. said my lungs deflated during surgery. Has any body else had that problem. I am very short of breath now. Just wondered if anybody could tell me something to help. Thanks

I'm not sure what deflated lungs are, anything like collapsed lungs?

This Christmas break I had another partially collapsed lung, all part of the magic of being me. It takes me a while to get back to normal, but I always get there. It is VITAL that you use your spiromiter, that weird thing that you suck on for 10 seconds. This little contraption will help to increase your lung function. If you are a smoker, you must stop.

I don't know if once you've had one collaps you are suseptable to another. Call your surgeon and get the information. You might want to talk to your PCP to see what she thinks too.
