Changes in eating habits

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I have been banded 2.5 years. At first I lost slowly, finally only losing 35 lbs. (I only had about 70 to lose) I know that some might think me crazy but it is just as important to me to lose that amount. I swear that the reason I lost the weight was because I couldn't keep anything down, suddenly it all stopped including wight lost. I know that I have been eating more, but why would everything stop, including not being able to keep my meals down? I just knew that I had streched out my pouch, but my fill doc says no. When I saw the exray pic. though, I thought it had a definate apple shape. what shape is it suppose to have? Has anyone had this issue?

Hmmm....mine is like a pear, not apple. But I have no clue.

My doc said if you drink Water under fluro and it doesn't empty as fast, but it's not the restriction....that's the stretched pouch...you can see it on the monitor.

I just don't know why the abrupt halt in weightloss. But don't give up...you've definitely come to the right place to ask...someone will surely give you ideas.

Good luck!

Maybe you could write down everything you eat and drink for a week and take this with you to your next appointment with the doctor. sorry I have no idea what shape my pouch is meant to be. Is there another surgeon that you coud see for a second opinion?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
