Babs,

So sorry you have to go thru all of that with the insurance company. At any rate, I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

what crap news Babs, hope you fight it AND WIN! By the way, I hear great things from people in the UK and here in Ireland, that South Africa is pretty good value for plastic surgery....there are resorts where you come back to after the surgery and rest for two weeks....just a thought - really hope it works out for you xx

I heard that you can submit a bid for approval again you might have to document consequences such as rashes, chafing , yeast infections you have to keep fighting the sqeaky wheel gets what they want.

... they agreed to honor the previous approval for the abdminoplasty. SO yeah!!!! It must have been the threats that I would sue them for backing out of the previous approval that got them off their butts...
Well, at least you've had some good news. Now let's hope they go for the thighplasty, otherwise it's ass-kickin' time.

Oh my word!!!! What state & insurance company do you have . . . I want to make sure I NEVER use them. Why is it that they are even in this business; must it always be anti-patient and pro-holding our money. Babs, please know that I am praying for you and hoping it all get's turned around for your good very quickly. It is a shame for sure and I am very sorry this has happen to you. You have done so well in lossing so much weight; please, don't let this get you down. It's just a crazy world.

Always,

Judy

Hi Judy,

I actually have really good insurance. They paid for my lapband and made a decision in one day! They are paying for my Tummy Tuck, but did not feel that the pics and clinical data was adequate to approve the thighplasty. I am appealing and still have two appeals left. Hopefully, I wont have to use them all. Not many insurance companies want to pay for thighs. Most of them dont want to pay for anything. I think statistically only 40% of people who get the lapband actually get their insurance companies to pay for it. I am here in TX and have the Motorola Rewards PPO administered by Humana Choicecare. Things used to be easier when CCN was the network provider. They do pay for my fills (I have had 7 and they paid for my band, so I cant squawk too much. IT is disappointing to be turned down, but I think with an appeal, I should be able to win this. We shall see.....

Way to be presistant Babs!!!!!! I am very happy they decided to honour their first ok on the TT & I pray that your thigh lift will go through as well. I will keep you in my prayers. I never had any idea how long a prayer list could be until I joined LBT:0)

I hate the fact that strangers can determine what makes us comfortable in our own lives. Who is anyone to say if someones thighs will be better lifted or not? Only the person dealing with the problem can truely say how it effects them.

I wish if they weren't going to cover the surgeries they would just not cover any surgeries. It ticks me off when I find out one person can qualify and another can't.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
