Lost inches from the stomach?

Recommended Posts

I'm sure I should probably already know this but it didn't stay with me if I did. So, I'm gonna ask you guys 'cause you're the brightest of the bright. :biggrin2: My band seems so much looser now than it did at any point since my surgery and then fill. Feels like I could literally eat anything and I'm starting to do that. :) I've only had one fill and due for another on the 13th. Is it possible that I've lost fat deposits on my stomach and that may make the band become loose? Because I'm sure it was tighter before. Just trying to get a better handle on this whole process. Thanks.

Thanks Donna. Least I don't feel like I'm going nuts now. Debating about moving up my fill date. Want to 'cause I'm afraid of eating too much and don't want to 'cause I want to eat more. LOL

I think it is very possible. I kind of felt this way after the restriction from my first fill subsided but in retrospect I think it was just the difference between how I felt right after the fill and how I felt when it subsided. If you are at a plateau as well, it can't hurt to move up your fill date. I cannot say enough about the difference between the first and second fills.

DEFINITELY move up your fill date. Whenever you feel that you're losing restriction, move it up. I made that misstake of waiting and boy I wish I was restricted after my first fill!!! I exercised like a maniac because I was taking in soooo many calories and I didn't want to gain weight.I was actually feeling ravenous and it scared me.:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
