Ok am I crazy or what????

Recommended Posts

Now I don't have to start my pre-op diet until the 7th of May. I go in on the 13th to have my blood work and every done prior to being banded on the 15th. I have made up in my mind that I am going to start my pre-op diet on this coming Monday. I think my major struggle is eating out of being board... or when i'm upset... So i know I am going to have to really focus on what triggers my eating..I am not going to do the last supper type of thing, because I think that will make it worse for me to do the right thing... I am ready to start this new life of mine... please keep me in your prayers and i will do like wise and keep you all in mine.. Nothing but success, and great things i hope for you all....:)

I don't think that it is crazy at all! It sounds like a great way to take control. Good for you.....besides the more pounds off the easier your surgery is going to be.

I don't think it's the least bit crazy. My Dr. doesn't require me to do a pre-op diet at all because my BMI is under 50. I still started one on Wednesday. (Being banded the 14th.) I asked him about it at my appt and he said to have at it as they're highly considering making it a standard thing at the office anyway.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
