Ladies with large chests...

Recommended Posts

I think you should just communicate your desire not to have the port where the underwire sits, but in all honesty most of them are not located where the underwire sits. I think it is a non-issue for almost all of us, but I really feel bad for anyone that had a doctor who did not think of this particular issue before placing the port in an uncomfortable place.

Mine is under the rib cage on the left side by about 2-3 inches . . . perhaps that is a good idea for the next poll . . . where is your port located in the poll with discussion about why this placement does or does not work . . . just a thought.

My port is right in the middle of my chest, in between my breasts. I like it there. The big scar is hidden by my bra. And if I ever want to wear a bikini top, it will cover the scar as well. I haven't had any problems with underwire bras.

You mean it is stitched onto the top of your ribs??

Well, it's stiched into the skin or whatever is there, not my ribs. It's kinda hard to explain. It's right below the middle of my bra.

Hmm.. well the bottom of my bra sits exactly level with the base of my sternum (the bone/cartilage that joins your ribs together). My port is about 3-4 inches below that (and about 4-5 inches above my belly button). For my port to sit directly beneath the bra itself, it would have to be under the skin on top of my ribs, and I can't really imagine that! Wouldn't it stick out awfully far too?

No, it doesn't stick out too far. At least I don't think it does. I don't notice it. Mine is probably in the same place as yours but my bra probably sits a little lower than yours because my boods are so big and saggy. :smile2:

Hi large chested lovely ladies,

My fear is that my very large chest (38dddd/g) is going to go totally south as I continue to lose weight

I am finally cleared to do most excercise, but will have to wait a little while longer for weight work.

What ideas do you have...I already wear minimizer bras everyday, and picked up a few compression garmets hoping that will help keep everything in place for a while

I am 22 and wear a 42 H...I wear an underwire bra and it doesn't interfer with anything...After my surgery for about 2 weeks I wore an old nursing bra when I had to just because I was sore and didn't want to try underwire again yet, but since then I have no problems with my regular bras  My breast are deflating though...lmao poor things...I can't wait to have them lifted and reduced!!!!

My lovely lady lumps are slowly but surely doing a disappearing act  Not that I am so sad about it but my hubby is. You're right, nothing a little lift won't cure

I was a DD before surgery, almost a D now. I have not had any problems wearing an underwire bra. I have a short torso and my doctor was most concerned with placing the port somewhere between my belt line and my bra line and fortunately he did a great job!!! Good luck.

Alex - now that's a great doctor! I asked my surgeon beforehand and he said, "Oh I definitely don't put the port near your bra line." It's the little things in life, isn't it?!? :-)

Just checking in with all my busty sistas!:cursing:

I'm two weeks out from surgery, and I must say, my surgeon did a good job with placement - my port is just a little lower on my torso than where my bra band hits, so no problems as of right now. I was a little sore the first few days and wore a non-underwire bra, but I'm back to the wires with no real problems.

I do hope I don't lose a LOT of my bustline, though I know realistically that losing 100 pounds WILL make a difference. I'm hoping heavy bench presses and weight work will help build muscle underneath the soft tissue and help the 'girls' stay up!

Well, I have lost 35 pounds, and I have lost NOTHING from my boobs. I am a DD and I would actually like to lose about a cup size.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
