I was wondering how long after the surgery you can have intercourse? Do you even feel like it? Usually it's 6 wks. Is it longer for the lap band?

I could not wait longer than 3 weeks lol, But he was careful. I still have some discomfort, but you just have to explore different positions that are comfortable.

We waited 3-4 weeks and we did it from behind. lol. not to be too graphic but i didn't want him laying on my belly. After 5 weeks it was fine though any way we did it.

I wasn't told I had to wait at all, just take care not to pull stitches in the incisions, and not to take all his weight on your abdominal area.....and if it hurts stop!

I don't remember an exact count of days, but it wasn't long....I felt fine, so that wasn't an issue.

Besides, it is good exercise!!!

We waited about 10 days, I think. We were just really careful as to not put any pressure on my tummy or port area.

The booklet my Dr. gave me at pre-op, said no "rough sex" for 3 months. He said we can have sex as soon as you feel up to it - be careful and nothing "rough"

I wonder if his definition and my definition is the same!

We waited a couple weeks. I just avoided his weight on top of me for a while. I have to say though, after a loss of 50 pounds, this whole thing gets WAY better!!! *wink*

I think I would have to ask for clarification on that one!

We waited until I got home from the hospital. That was the day after surgery. I was totally fine--no problem, had very little pain, just kept weight off my incisions. I went for a walk later that afternoon. I actually came home from the hospital with a LOT of energy for some reason, and that seemed like a good way to spend it. YMMV of course. :)

Good exercise but it should last at least 45 minutes longer to get the benefit of it!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! You really did have an easy time with surgery, huh? :)

Well, it wasn't too bad! I really wasn't uncomfortable until post op day 4...there were no shenanigans then! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
