Brandy~ 2 Posted May 2, 2008 Hey Bandme  I too just joined the gym and I am hitting it hard and heavy.. alot of fun once u get past the burning in your muscles haha. before and after banding you learn patience because we are always waiting on something... waiting on insurance, surgeons, doctors, then after waiting on fills, restrictions, sweet spots... believe me patiences is definetly a virtue. I agree just don't do the whole farewell to food thing. If you must have a last walk down memory lane with food just make it 1 special day or a great night out or something with friends and family don't do a week long tour. Plus your life of food isn't over it's just gonna change in a more healthy way. You will still be able to have that cake once in a great while... just instead of the whole cake you will only want a few bites and a few bites isn't so hard to work off at the gym. Make sure you stock up on liquids for atleast the first week of your surgery. I kept broth, crystal lite, tons of Protein shakes around, ice chips in the freezer. I hate Jello but most like to keep that around in case your a sweets type person. You'll be fine and it will all go much quicker than you realize. patience patience patience Good luck!
