I am excited, and nervous, and scared, all rolled into one. I am so glad that we have each other on this journey...I don't know if I would have been brave enough to do this on my own. Thanks everyone, tonya.

I'm feeling all the same things you are Tanya. (Thankfully it's mainly excitement...we'll see how I am two weeks from today when it's the night before my surgery.)

It's hard to believe that there are already a few that are going to be banded in just a few hours! YAY!

May is the most beautiful month, at least here in New England, in May all the trees blossom with their flowers and the grass starts growing again and it stops raining!!!! Its a time of re-birth, for mother nature, and for all of us!!!!!!

I'm so excited!!!!!

Allison you have me renewed again.. I get my band the 26th of May .. I was getting a little worried and excited and all in between .. When you said you were cleaning your room .I thought YES YES ..Out with the old and only the new will do ... You have the best attitude .. Keep us posted .. Our new way of life is going to be the absolute best ... Start making lists .I have a million of them everywhere.. Oh and don't forget GAS X strips to your list .. We are all so blessed to have this band to help us ... I can't even begin to imagine yet ... When my Dr said he wouldn't let me go below 128.. I laughed to myself and thought is he talking to me???? WOW...

Happy Friday everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
