travellvr 0 Posted May 1, 2008 Hi everyone. I was banded on 4/9 and am in the soft food stage. I can eat cottage cheese, string cheese, tuna, any baked fish, yogurt and overcooked vegetables, and canned fruit. I'm eating about 65 to 70 grams of Protein in just food, no need for the Protein shakes. I'm keeping carbs very low since I can't have anything but fish and veggies, but I can only seem to get 500 to 700 calories a day, luckily that keeps me full. When you get a restriction, how in the world can you ever get 1000 calories in a day. Thanks for any answers in advance. Mary
Jachut 487 Posted May 1, 2008 You've probably got better restriction now than you will have for quite a while again, if ever. Post op I had great restriction, now 2 and a half years later, I can easily get in 1800 calories a day, just fine for maintenance. Dont worry, you will be able to eat 1000 or so without drama, more likely it will be sticking to it that's the harder bit. It can take several fills to get there.
