How did you care for your incision?

Recommended Posts

I was told by my nurse at the hospital to let Water run down on the incisions during a shower and then afterward ad some antibacterial ointment to them. I was just curious how the rest of you were told to care for your incision???? And by the way, you all were right.........the nurse said I could have removed the dressings days ago. Thanks

Just let the Water run down them. I finally pulled the last of the tape off a couple of days ago, The tape & glue was really irritating to my skin. I'm still red from the tape.

My dermatologist told me to be very careful with neosporin, after I developed an alergic reaction to it of course. He said that many people are allergic to it. A single agent topical anti-biotic is better than the neosporin.

The neosporin will eat the glue as well. SO be extra careful putting it on the glue areas. I learned this the hard way. Thank goodness the only incision affected was the port one but that was already opening up anyway. I had my incisions draining for days before they finally closed on their own.

YEs I was told to let the Water drain over the incisions and to not be aggressive with cleaning those areas. Pat them dry. And let them air dry.

I took a soft spongie and washed them (VERY gently) with antibacterial soap. At 14 days I started putting Vit E oil on them. I am waiting but I am going to post my 21 days after pic in a few days and I am VERY happy with them.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
