dfox3325 0 Posted April 30, 2008 (edited) I started my journey towards Lap Band in January 2008, my surgery is to be sometime in July. I am starting to get a little nervous about what is to come. I'm doing well reminding myself eat every few hours small amounts of food to keep my metabolism up and re-training myself. I also carry a water bottle around with me constantly so I remind myself to get enough fluids. I am going to Pittsburgh Bariatrics in Fox Chapel area (St. Margaret's Hospital) and my doctors are Dr. Means and Dr. Quinlin. They tell me that this particular place is a "Source of Excellence" in the bariatrics arena. I enjoy going to the meetings every month and have learned so much about the body and food. I have always thought that I was the "Queen of Diets" over the last 40 years, I would lose 60-70 pounds and then put it back on and more in 5 years. Like I said I've learned a lot since I started this retraining. I'm not a sweet eater, but I have a habit of not eating all day and eating too much in the evening (volume). I have been attemping to change that. I'll told I am a perfect candidate for Lap Band. I have been extremely active over the years even with the weight, but I have a back problem that has been keeping me from doing the things I want to do. Hopefully losing the weight will improve this!! Edited April 30, 2008 by dfox3325

jnbwilds 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you are doing a great job of preparing yourself and learning new habits! Most of us were yo-yo dieters also, and the band is a great tool to keep you on track. Good luck!
