Pregnant pictures with port

Recommended Posts

I am trying to get pregnant but I am worried about the port sticking out. I told some of my family but not others. I was wondering if anyone had pics of their belly and their port. I would like to see both either sticking out or not.

Thanks,

Flydove,

I just had a baby 3 months ago. I had no problems with my port sticking out. I was completely unfilled so it was like I had never had the surgery. If it wasn't for scars on my stomach you wouldn't even know. You should join the banded and pregnant thread on this website. There are other woman who are pregnant or trying to and have some of the same questions. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hehe, I tried to Google some pics for you but kept just getting Jachut's avatar. I'm 15 weeks but not noticeably showing yet, maybe I would be if I had a flat stomach to begin with, but with this mass of loose skin, who knowns when I'll look preggo. I'm fairly normal in the upper torso where my port is and not a sign of it so far. The degree to which it shows will probably depend a lot on where the port was placed. Mine is up high, just an inch or two lower than my bra band, so we'll see.

I'm now nearly 36 weeks pregnant and my port doesn't stick out at all. You can feel it more easily, but it isn't visible.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
