Becca!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <POUNCE>

See what happens when you pop up? Everyone comes out of the woodwork complaining about the same damn thing! LOL

I also have that 50 lbs left to go syndrome. It doesn't help that everyone is telling me how great I look and I look in the mirror and think, "Yeah, I'm looking pretty good!" But then I also still have these massive areas of fat in the thighs, hips and tummy and know that I need to get that remaining 50 lbs off! I've actually been on a plateau for the past three weeks as well. Been driving me crazy because 90% of the time I behave myself so well. I manage to stay away from carbs, eat lots of Protein, make good food choices, increased my Water consumption, etc etc etc, but the stupid scale wouldn't budge! The past couple of days it has decided to go down a half a pound a day each so maybe I'm finally breaking through. If not, my third fill tomorrow should do the trick!!! I believe I currently have 6.5 cc's in my large band which can hold 14. I have had good restriction, I certainly eat less than I used to by a LONG shot but I sometimes wonder if I'm still able to eat too much at a sitting. For instance, tonight I had a 6 oz filet mignon and two scrambled eggs with cheese in them. I was able to eat it all. I'm still quite full though six hours later and find that I'm rarely hungry throughout the day as long as I'm continuously drinking my Water.< /p>

I did have a battle today with carb cravings. ANY carbs, whether they be sweets or bread or Pasta. I was at the grocery store today and had a more difficult time than normal staying focused especially when I had to buy my daughter cookie mix and icing for the Cookies she was wanting to make for her classmates, then having to smell them when she baked. So far I've managed to hold out. In fact I kept telling myself, tomorrow is fill day and you won't be able to have any of that so just hang in there!!! I did and I'm glad I did!

My next battle is exercise. I love to walk but I can't due to my plantar fasciitis, so I need to get on my bicycle and ride but haven't done so yet. I HAVE been much more active though, working in the yard, mowing, weed whacking, pulling weeds, etc. and I also steam cleaned the carpets yesterday in the house. This is stuff that I could have never done before so I'm really enjoying being able to get around easier.

Okay enough of my gabbing. Going to go watch Becca's tummy movie! LOL

Hi Karen!! Thank you SO MUCH! You guys are so kind. It's actually so comforting to see that we are all going into that same stage of plateaus and the mid-point hump that we have to get over! I'm glad you are finally breaking through. After a few weeks of messing with the same 1 or 2 lbs, I finally broke the plateau early this week and about 4 lbs dropped off. Hopefully I can stay on a roll!

The exercise is a struggle for me too. I'll never be a gym rat - never. So I'm trying to just add activity like gardening and bike riding with my hubby and boys.

Let us know how that 3rd fill goes!! Be careful girl! I think my second fill will correlate to your third because my surgeon put in 3 cc's at the time of surgery. I was SO much more restricted after that second. In fact - I can't do scrambled eggs anymore unless I have them at dinner (things are tight in the morning).

Chew until your jaw hurts!!! Can't wait to hear how you're doing!

I watched the blog Becca. Very educational - maybe it should be on the introductory page as required watching for newbies!

Gotta say though, just as all of our post-op liquid to real food transition instructions were different, so are our fill experiences. With me, there is no numbing injection, and then in less than 5 seconds the nurse has the injection done...no partially sitting up or moving arms or anything. Weird.

Oh well, it is obviously working - you look fabulous, you have achieved a tremendous weight loss so far, and retained a great sense of humour.

Thanks

Thanks for watching! Actually, my first fill was similar to yours - a few seconds and we were done. No sitting up or anything. This second one took a bit longer to get into the port, so I was actually glad for the local anesth. this time! I'm not sure why it took longer - could it have been that we were holding a video camera over my doc's hand to record his every move for my blog?

Also, for my friend who encouraged me to get my "after" pictures up in place of the uber chubby "before" picture that I had been using for my avatar......is this one better?

Hey Becca! You are just fabulous!:biggrin2: I enjoyed your post and when I watched your video I was so impressed! I have only had 2 fills, but the second one I had my doc got such a good strong grip on it that when he went to pull the needle out ~ OMG ~it didn't want to let go and come out! :w00t: I think it's great that you are recording this journey! You look wonderful! :smile2: Keep up the good work!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
