:smile2:Hi I was banded April 16,2008. I live in Hot Springs Ar. and flew to Detroit for my surgery. I can't say enough positive things about the staff and surgeons there. They were super. I am on my third week on the post eating plan and so far I haven't had any adverse effects. I have lost 12lbs and I am so pleased with myself. I joined this forum to get and give support. :coolgleamA:

Hi, I had it done in Detroit Medical Center and i can't say enough good about my experience. The staff was supper and the Doctor great too. I am on my third week of the post surgery. I strongly suggest for you to start walking as soon as you can. Walking right after surger prevents blood clots, and passes gas that is 90% of pain you experience. If possible space the pain meds. I wish you the best and thanks for taking the time to write on the thread.

Hello from Detroit! I am having my surgery done tomorrow at Harper Hospital in Detroit. I hope my experience is as good as yours. Glad you had a good one in Detroit. Why Detroit?

I choose Detroit because they had an excellent medicare plan and I was able to meet the requirements and they work with me. I tried other clinics clooser to home, and the staff didn't seem to be to be as devoted to get you qualified. I wish you well and ask for OLGA she is one of the special nurses on the Bariatric unit and tell her some on in Arkansas is waiting for an email. Thanks

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
