scgirl 0 Posted April 28, 2008 Hi Rita, Have you heard anything about the doctors in Seneca? Dr. Paluzzi and Dr. Hughes do the surgery? Just wondering if there's a reason you're going to Lexington instead of Seneca? I've been to the seminar with Paluzzi, and going to schedule an appt. with him. Let me know if you have any advice. Hi I am researching by going to different seminars. I also like the idea of the idea of the Centers of Excellence. What did you think at the seminar you went to? Do you live near Anderson? kathystrick 3 Posted April 29, 2008 Hi all! I live in SC too! I am going to the Weight Management Center through Palmetto Health Baptist. I also considered Lexington, but went with Baptist for a number of different reasons, but nothing to do with the center or surgeons specifically. Just personal preference. Hope everyone is doing well on their journeys! Good luck to all of you and keep us posted on your progress!
Rebechuds 0 Posted April 30, 2008 (edited) Hey Kathy how are you doing tonight? I'm doing well. May I ask why you chose to go the Baptist. Who's the Dr you are using for the banding? I wonder if Dr. Given's does the banding at both or just Lexington? I have always had all my surgery's at Lexington. Which both hospitals are great. How long has it been since you submitted the pw to your insurance comany Edited April 30, 2008 by Rebechuds

I wonder if Dr. Given's does the banding at both or just Lexington? I have always had all my surgery's at Lexington. Which both hospitals are great. How long has it been since you submitted the pw to your insurance comany Hey! I'm doing well - glad it's Wednesday! I am using Dr. Ben Tribble from the Weight Management Center through Baptist. I actually live in Sumter, so Baptist is a bit closer, but the main reason I chose Baptist was because I was already familiar with Dr. Tribble. His brother did heart surgery on my mother a couple of years ago and was just awesome. Through him, we met my doctor and when I started checking into LB and found out he did it, that kinda made my mind up. I have never been a patient at either hospital, so that wasn't a factor for me. I did feel like I received awesome attention when I went in for my testing though. They are set up to handle extremely obese patients, so there were oversized chairs in all the waiting rooms, heavy duty wheel chairs available, and they already had a larger sized gown out for me when I undressed for my tests, so I didn't have to ask for one or come out only partially covered. I never once felt like anyone there looked down on me because of my size and that is unusual. Most of those things are required before they can be named a Bariatric Center of Excellence, but people can still treat you however they want to and there was not a single bad attitude that I encountered. Anyway, if you have any other questions, I would be happy to answer them for you. Good luck!
