If you are running a fever, i'm am sure it will be postponed, however, I don't believe that things happen for a reason. You simple got sick. Keep the lap band in mind. Don't ever give up, you will not regret it.

I have to say I totally believe things happen for a reason ..Just maybe though you will be fine and dandy by Wednesday ... Not to stress take it one day at a time.

Don't worry- I'm not giving up... I just figure I'm not supposed to have the surgery this week... I guess I didn't realized I was getting sick and some higher power made it happen before the surgery to avoid additional pain... The cough is rough and deep. It will be very painful to have sutures and a cough!

If I have to wait another couple of weeks, so be it. There are worse things in life than having to be patient!

I'll call tomorrow to check in the surgeon and see what they have to say. No fever thank God! I took some tylenol earlier, but I can't get rid of this heaviness in my chess.

Yesterday I woke up with a mild sore throat, and it's still sore today and my voice sounds deep. No congestion, fever or anything else though. I'm hoping it's just sinus drainage, so I'm not re-scheduling. My surgery is this Wednesday.

I agree, sometimes it's just better to post-pone. It helps in the long run for the body to heal.

God Bless and good luck on your decision!!

Dbowers- just be careful and let your surgeon know what's going on. You don't want to wind up with a cough when you have a bunch of sutures on your body- That would just hurt way too much!!! Best of luck to you- keep us posted!

And GrosseFemme- You have the Best Surgery Date EVER!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
