Could I have a hernia?

I read a lot about hernias that are repaired during surgery. How do I know if I have one, what are the chances? Are there types of people more likely to have them? What are they?

I had one, didnt even know it.......doc fixed during banding, I was kinda glad because I could just say I had a hiatial hernia fixed and not be lying (didnt tell anyone about being banded). Apparently they are very common in the obese.

I had the dry heaves from a virus a couple weeks ago, and then worked out really hard on my abdominals. Now I have a pain in my diaphram that won't go away and a hard bubble in that area. It only hurts when I work out, strain to sit up or roll over in bed and twist around. I'm concerned I have one now. Is that possible?
