TxChelsey 1 Posted April 26, 2008 (edited) I have seen a lot of variation in the post-op diets, but most of them seem to include a mushy food phase. I had 4 days of Clear Liquids, followed by 5 weeks of full liquids, then 1 week of processed solids (blending everything to cole-slaw consistency), then solids. I am still on full liquids and would love some mushies, but my surgeon said no. I think most people are on mushies after a few weeks. Hating it, but following instructions. kbinaz 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Five weeks of full liquids would have driven me insane. You have my deepest sympathies. I am thinking about how fortunate I was to have chosen my doctor!!! I didn't even know what her post-op diet was beforehand and if I had known about ones like yours I would have made sure to check! I was on Clear Liquids for four days and then on soft Proteins until my first fill. I could eat chicken, turkey, eggs, cottage cheese, refried Beans, and low fat/low sugar yogurt. I thought that was tough, but now I realize how easy it was compared to what you are having to go through. I'm really sorry! Hope the time goes by really quickly for you~

So you do have one, it's just really short and really late. Not sure I could do 5 weeks of full liquids. Does your doctor have an insanely low slippage rate to back up doing it this way? I would do it if I thought it meant less chance of slippage, but otherwise I'd be a bit underwhelmed by such a requirement.
