Nuali 1 Posted April 25, 2008 Ok, so I thought that I was in for a fight to get this thing approved. However, as I was leisurely checking my cell phone messages this morning from yesterday, I found a message from the weight loss surgical center saying that my surgery has been approved! I couldn't believe it...my first appointment was just on Monday, the 22nd. I think that when you are waiting for something that you want so bad, you can't really believe that it will happen. Anyway, my heart goes out to those that are still waiting...keep strong and don't give up. FYI...I have a BMI of 39.7, REALLY high blood pressure, and my insurance company is BCBS-Blue Care in KCMO. Nuali

Long2BFree 12 Posted April 26, 2008 I am with BCBS of Texas and I need to get five year history of obesity and I am not sure how i should go about getting it? Please help If you've gone to the doctor they record your weight. I would think that would be proof enough.
Nuali 1 Posted April 26, 2008 I've heard on the forum that sometimes you can use weight watchers, curves, or any diet/exercise program weigh-in numbers for proof...did they say where the proof had to come from...phycisian only?
ladyT 0 Posted April 28, 2008 Wonderful news!!! I tried with my insurance -- gone through all the steps and was not approved with a BMI of 38. My BMI is now 39 and I am suffering from sleep apnea with arthritis, which is worsening every pound added to my current weight. I plan to pay cash, but was wondering if I needed to go through the same process. Thoughts?
Nuali 1 Posted April 30, 2008 I think if you pay cash, you're good to go if your doc okays it!:smile2:
