Hunger pangs

Recommended Posts

You know...I think I need to learn greek to figure out my stomach...I don't know what i'm dealingwith these days. I drink a Protein Shake and 2 hours later i'm so hungry I can't think straight...I mean really truly hungry!! I don't get it.

When I get the full fill i'm REALLY REALLY FULL...then...nothing...I get that liquids go down faster but geez...i'm drinking Water (w/lemon) and trying to do right.

I read something about one doc in the midwest putting his patients on diet pills during the first six weeks of their process to keep the hunger pangs down and i'm really thinking about it. I can't be at work so hungry that i can't concentrate. Does anyone have suggestions for the newly banded? I looked for a thread on this before but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I don't want to screw up my first 6 weeks but I have to eat...crackers maybe?

Be very very careful with the MENTAL hunger! That was my nemisis. I felt as if I "should" be eating rather than "needing" to eat. I am just now (and will struggle much more) with the new concept of eating to live rather than living to eat.

You are only 5 days post op. Please stay strong! I am not going to lie and say that the next few weeks gets any easier either. I am 2 weeks post op and want food SOOOO badly! Try drinking more Water and more water! I know that one food in my 2nd week that has SAVED me was the Yoplait Whips yogurt. Very light and fluffy yet very satisfying!

Stay strong!!

Hey Gypj, not all protien drinks are created equal. Try to find one that has a lot of Protein and lower calories. The adkins are okay, but do try some other shake. Also, if you are on shakes, you can probably have blended Soups now, right? I found the Soups to be more filling than the shakes.< /p>

Good luck! (I just moved to mush, so the liquid stage is very fresh in my mind!)
