Boo Boo,

I have a game my sister and I play. One of us names an eighties song and the other has to say what movie it was played in, and what SCENE. I'll start us out, New Order's Thieves Like Us.

Two Words - Aqua Net!

I remember "You Can't Do That on Television". Alanis Morssett (sp?) was on that show when she was a kid. Loved Loved Love the Smurfs! I had Kangagroo Shoes - they were the coolest, had a little zipper for change.

Brat Pack - Let's see. Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, Ally Sheady, Demey Moore, Andrew (I can't think of his last name - he was in Pretty in Pink), Robert Downey Jr, Rob Lowe. That's all I can think of right now. Brat Pack Movies - Pretty in Pink, St. Elmos Fire, 16 Candles.

Do ya'll remember The Outsiders?

I loved the Outsiders...It's funny watching those old movies.

Like Red Dawn? I loved it then, but I just can't wrap my head around it now. LOL...it's funny to watch now!

Andrew McCarthy. Have you seen Anthony Michael Hall now? HOT!

My brother LOVED Red Dawn, he wore out the VCR Tape. Being a younger sister - I enjoyed it many many many times. It is a bit far fetched, but had plenty of eye candy (i.e. C. Thomas O'Howell, Patrick Swayze - first movie I saw him in).

McCarthy! That's it - I couldn't think of his name. Who knew Anthony Michael Hall would go from the typecast "geek" to HOT! Yes, you got it right, HOT!

My sister sent my this email not long ago, and I love it!!!

The good old days!!!!!

You Know You Grew Up In the 80's if:

1. You've ever ended a sentence with the word SIKE.

2. You can sing the rap to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and can do the Carlton

3. You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey on Blossom

4. If you ever watched "Fraggle Rock"

5. It was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

6. You wore a ponytail on the side of your head.

7. You got super-excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

8. You made your mom buy one of those clips that would hold your shirt in a knot on the side.

9. You played the game "MASH"(Mansion, Apartment, Shelter, House)

10. You wore stonewashed Jordache jean jackets and were proud of it.

11. You know the profound meaning of " WAX ON , WAX OFF"

12. You wanted to be a Goonie.

13. You ever wore fluorescent clothing. (some of us...head-to-toe)

14. You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before his nose fell off and his cheeks shifted.

15. You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

16. You took lunch boxes to school...and traded Garbage Pailkids in the schoolyard.

17. You remember the CRAZE, then the BANNING of slap bracelets.

18. You still get the urge to say "NOT" after every sentence.

19. You thought your childhood friends would never leave because you exchanged handmade friendship bracelets.

21. You ever owned a pair of Jelly-Shoes.

22. After you saw Pee-Wee's Big Adventure you kept saying "I know you are, but what am I?"

23. You remember "I've fallen and I can't get up"

24. You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates.

25. You have ever played with a Skip-It.

26. You remember boom boxes and walking around with one on your shoulder like you were all that.

27. You remember watching both Gremlins movies.

28. You thought Doogie Howser/Samantha Micelli was hot.

29. You remember Alf, the lil furry brown alien from Melmac.

30. You remember New Kids on the Block when they were cool...and don't even flinch when people refer to them as "NKOTB"

31. You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell," The ORIGINAL class.

32. You know all the words to Bon Jovi - SHOT THROUGH THE HEART.

33. You just sang those words to yourself.

34. You still sing "We are the World"

35. You tight rolled your jeans.

36. You owned a bannana clip.

37. You remember "Where's the Beef?"

38. You used to (and probably still do) say "What you talkin' 'bout Willis?"

39. You're still singing shot through the heart in your head, aren't you!

I STILL want to be a goonie!

My crush was Sean Austin - and now, BBK, you got it right...Jerry O'Connell is a cutie!

Ahh...love the 80's. I was more head banger chick and even now have to fight the urge to buy Power Ballads off the info-mercials.

Cinderella's Don't Know Whatcha Got Til It's Gone - just gets me every time.

OMG, I love this thread! Like, totally awesome, dude!

I'm sitting here grinning like an idiot and I gotta say, I really needed that today, I've been in a mood.

And I'm still sitting here singing Shot Through The Heart to myself. HA!

I met Anthony Michael Hall when I was 16. He was filming "Johnny Be Good" and I was working in Chess King (remember that 80's flashback?) He bought a suit from me and told me I had beautiful eyes....I think I stopped breathing for about 3 or 4 minutes...LOL!

I think we lost the trivia part here...what's the question?

I think the question was What Is The Brat Pack? Which ultimately led to Anthony Michael Hall.

OH, another movie with the Brat Pack that wasn't mentioned earlier was "The Breakfast Club". Loved that movie, still watch it whenever it's on!

I own it, I love it...

I watch Sweet Sixteen, Breakfast Club, For Keeps, and Chariots of Fire on a monthly basis. That is what I do when I need to relax! I LOVE Molly Ringwald and Allie:tt2: Sheedy!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      3. buildabetteranna

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
