Why Do I fill so frustrated

Recommended Posts

This morning I weighed myself and it seems I haven't lost anything in the last few weeks. I had a fill 2 weeks ago and I do feel a lot of restriction. I tract my calories and average about 600 cal a day and exercise 4 times a week for about 1 hour. What am I doing wrong? Did I have the wrong procedure? I feel like a failure all over again! Will it ever stop? Will I ever succeed.

Tmarie, it's possible that you're not eating enough and putting your body in starvation mode. You should be eating 1200 - 1600 calories per day. Have you tried tracking yourself on www.fitday.com? This will give you a good idea of what types of food you're eating. Are you eating hard Proteins first (lean, moist meats), followed with vegetables, and if still hungry, some carbs? Are you getting your full Water load in daily (but not with meals or 1 hour afterwards? What are some of the average foods that you are eating? How long have you been banded and how much weight have you lost so far? You may be a lower BMI to begin with and just have less fat to lose. Hang in there and come "talk" to others that understand here on LBT. Best of luck to you!

600 calories a day????? That is what the problem is. Eat more girl. I know when I hit a plateau I had to evaluate what I was eating. Fitday.com helps tremendously in tracking what you eat. Marie is right. Your body is in starvation mode and will horde anything you put in your body as fat. Try to double your calories a day and see how that works. Drink your Water as well. THat helps ALOT!!!!!!!!!!

I have to concur 100% with what both Penni and Marie stated. You need more calories..1200-1500 a day is what my target is...

Not to mention if you are only eating 600 calories and exercising 4x's a week an hour at a time you could be losing lean muscle mass which is not what us bandsters want to do. Up your caloric intake this week and see what happens

Hang in there we all have been where you are at, I'm frustrated attimes and I'm a year post op

Also, don't forget to check in with the tape measure. You could be losing inches and putting on muscle mass.

But I have to agree with everyone else, YOU NEED TO EAT MORE. Which of course, causes me to giggle. Who would'a thunk that you need to eat more to lose weight?!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
