I have 3 scars about a centimetre long, one that is about an inch long and one that is about 3 inches long. They are all very clean, I have taken care not to pull them apart and I am expecting that when they have fully healed, that they will be flat, thin white lines. That is how I scar. Also, I have a bit of a thing about scars. They are evidence of life's battles, and every scar tells a little story of who you are. So I am not worried about them. When I am showing off my flat tummy, my scars will be the least of my concerns :tongue_smilie:

They're not bad at all, my little scars are invisible and the port scar has lost all its colour now (2 and a half years on), its no longer red, just a raised line the same colour as the rest of my skin (lily white, lol). My stomach is quite bikini worthy.

But I'd have to say everyone talks about low profile ports and my port shows now that I'm at a healthy weight, but I'd never want to go back in and open up my stomach again and have a fresh scar to heal, I'd rather a slight lump.

I was banded in February of this year... I have 5 scars, the largest one where the port is located is about an inch and a half long - it's very thin and almost white (a little pink). The 2nd largest is about a half inch and they get smaller from there.

2 of my 5 scars are almost undetectable already - I have been using Maderma on my incisions since about 2 weeks after the surgery (3x's a day), It's a little expensive, but I swear by it.

If your worried about how they will heal you can always get some creams to help them be less noticeable, I don't know where you are but here in Australia we have Bio Oil and it's definetly helped me with other scars from lung biopsies but if you don't have that where you are you can always try Vitamin E cream or anything with vitamin E cream, also coco butter helps as well

I have five and they *seem* to be getting lighter. I had somebody see my stomach up close, not knowing my scar count and only really noticed the one right off the bat - the port scar. I'm less than 6 months out. I had to point out the other 4 - I guess they kind of look like moles or something. I happen to think they're really noticeable, but others don't think so.

I've got 5 scars. I started using bio-oil as soon as I could. My scars are still pink and the port scar is about 4cm long. My sisters scars are just faint silvery lines that you really can't see. She had her op 4 years ago.

Provided you don't keloid scar than after a while they'll just be really faint silvery lines. No worse than the stretch marks I have :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
