realizegrrrl 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Hi! I was "banded" as an outpatient on April 17th in Greeley, Colorado. I am a patient at North Colorado Medical Center. It's a "Center of Excellence" facility. Dr. Michael Johnell put in a Realize band. He used the DaVinci robot to assist him and I have five small incisions on my abdominal wall. While he was inside, he discovered a small hernia which he also repaired. I guess that's common, too. I chose this program because of the extensive pre and post op care. I know that the reason I am overweight has little to do with eating and so much more to do with emotions. I'm on day 3 of my liquid diet. I'm not sure what all the feelings are that I am having, I can't tell if I have gas, or if I'm full, or if this is just temporary until I am healed. It's a whole new world. Looking forward to using the forums and meeting some of you.

wildercrews 0 Posted April 20, 2008 It's gas, baby. I live on Gas X. But it (gas) is only temporary. The more active you are, the less gas.

c7777christine 1 Posted April 20, 2008 I also have the realize band. I'm going to be moving your way in the fall from alaska. Just wanted to warn you about your fills. I had no restriction coming out of surgery. I will get my 3rd fill tomorrow and as of right now have no restriction. I have 4cc's in my 9cc band. My warning is don't get your hopes up that you'll have restriction right away. I think it might take 6-7cc's. I had my hopes up that I wouldn't be hungry all the time. I haven't given up. I just wish someone would have warned me about how long it can take to get restriction. Good luck with recovery! Chrissie
