Can I lose 116 lbs??

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am a newbie (Surgery 5-20) and I am trying to set up my ticker thing on this site. I have it made and ready to paste the code somewhere, BUT WHERE does it get pasted. Any help please!! Thanks so much, ChristyC

It looks like you're almost there, Christy. You've just missed the < character at the beginning of the code (easy to miss when selecting for cut and paste). Go back to your profile and Edit Signature, and type the < at the very beginning, in front of the ref= bit. Don't forget to save the change.

There is a Ticker Tutorial thread in the LBT Suggestions, Feedback, and Questions section. In a nutshell, you paste it in your signature.

116 pounds are a piece of cake if you are willing to work it. I lost 160 in 18 months! You can do it with the right frame of mind! Good luck!

Hi, Brandy!

How did you lose so quickly? Your advice, please.

I eat between 800-1300 calories per day. I track it with a free site

www.myfoodpyramid.gov

I eat a variety of foods, but just in moderation. I don't deny myself of anything if I REALLY want it.

I work out 1-1.5 hours a day at 4 am. I switch between cardio and weights.

I follow all the bandster rules and made this a life changing thing, not a quick fix.

Good luck!

Yes, Yes, Yes! Make it the highest priority in your life. Follow the rules, exercise, change your thinking, and you'll change your life. Good luck!

Wow, Becky! You are an inspiration! I got banded on 7/16/08 and have lost 9 lbs so far. I am a bit concerned that the average is 50% of excess weight loss and am hoping/planning on reaching my goal.

Don't forget that an average is just a statistic and there are people who reached 100% of their goal and those who have achieved 0% in that range. There's no reason why you can't be one of the 100% if you work at it .

You can and WILL do it! I love my treadmill! I'm up to an hour a day. I prop my laptop on it and it makes the time fly by! You just have to get a little cordination?! I had surgery April 10th and I'm down a total of 96 pounds! That's 55 pre surgery plus another 41 since surgery! Just stay focused! Good luck and keep me posted! Take care.

Yes! I never would have believed it a few months ago, but you can! If I can do it - nothing ever worked for me before - you can. I agree with above - 800 - 1200 (for me) calories a day, 30-60 minutes of walking & increasing general activity like taking stairs at work. Follow the rules, eat Protein first, and eliminate junk food from the house. It CAN be done, but you do have to be focused.

Good luck, and many of you have done a great job already!

How do you change the ticker tape? I've lost a few pounds but I don't know how to update. Thanks!

MyTurn,

Go back into the ticker factory, you'll have to sign in with your PIN, and click "update weight info." Then it will take you to a grid, at the bottom it will have field to update your weight and date. Then click Next - and it should automatically update.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
