RUBALCAVA2004 0 Posted April 18, 2008 THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I AM ACTUALLY THIS SICK SINCE I HAD MY BAND 6 MONTHS AGO TODAY ACTUALLY. I AM QUIT TIGHT SO I DON'T KNOW IF I NEED TO DO ANYTHING SO THAT I CAN TAKE THE PROPER MEDS, I MEAN LAST NIGHT I DID TAKE TYLENOL BUT THOSE WERE SMALL, NOTHING LIKE AN ANTIBIOTIC PILL! ANOTHER THING WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE BAND IF YOU HAVE AN INFECTION? I HEARD YOU HAVE TO GET UNFILLED?? STILL LEARNING THE LAPBAND LIFESTYLE........
shortgal 5 Posted April 18, 2008 Why not just call your band Dr. and tell them your symptoms and ask them what you should do/take? perhaps they'll suggest you see your PCP.
Sue Magoo 71 Posted April 18, 2008 Hi: My doctor said that post nasal drip can make the band too tight and he would do an unfill if someone were having issues with post nasal drip. You might want to try liquid tylenol to help with the discomfort. Hope you feel better soon. Sue
RUBALCAVA2004 0 Posted April 18, 2008 Thnx, I've Already E-mailed The Nurse. Yeah This Nasal Drip Is Driving Me Crazy!!!
Lunabeane 2 Posted June 17, 2008 I'm having a huge problem with post nasal drip. I'm currently taking Zyrtec D (which is the only thing that stops the drip) and prilosec for the nausea. I'm so sick in the morning that I can't eat until after I drink some hot tea or Water. I understand that some people use the Neti Pot but it hasn't worked for me. Sue Magoo 71 Posted June 17, 2008 Lunabeane: My doctor does a slight unfill if a patient has an issue with post nasal drip because it can tighten the band too much. I hope you feel better soon. Sue
Lunabeane 2 Posted June 17, 2008 Lunabeane: My doctor does a slight unfill if a patient has an issue with post nasal drip because it can tighten the band too much. I hope you feel better soon. Sue Thanks Sue...but I don't have a fill yet!!! That's what is unnerving me a bit. What happens when I do? I'm scheduled for my first fill on June 27th. The way my sinuses are I could be absolutely fine by then but it could be worse. I took the Zyrtec D and a priolosec before bed last night and woke up feeling a little better than I have been. I had been avoiding this because the ephedrine keeps me awake at night but if this is what I have to do then so be it. Thanks again!
Ann D 0 Posted June 17, 2008 I got the stomache flu about a month after being banded. I was told to buy liquid meds like for the kids and double the dose, and just ride it out. I guess my doctor is a little old fashioned.
