Hi all! I'm also scheduled for April 29th with Dr. Curry in Cincinnati, OH. I'm so excited! I have been on my pre-op diet (Medifast) since Monday and have lost 9 pounds in 5 days! I always lose quick the first week - the test will be to see if it continues into next week - and of course, beyond!

It's great to have several others banded the same day!

Hi all! I am April 29 also! I was supposed to have a May 13 surgery date but I've lost weight so quickly on the pre-op diet that my surgeon is letting me go two weeks early. Very exciting! Good luck to all of us!

DaisyMay I have been on the 2 week pre-op diet also, found day 5 and 6 to be tough. Trying to stay positive. Even made myself a list on why I want the band. It helped. Next week is our new birthday. April 29th. Good Luck to you !!! maria

Maria, I found day 5 and 6 to be very tough too. It was better today. I think it might have more to do with my being home and bored, plus sleeping later than during the week, which threw my eating schedule off. It does seem a bit better today, although the thought of 8 more days isn't too appealing.......:tongue_smilie:

Maria - actually I guess it was my day 6 and 7 that were rough (Sat & Sun) but day 8 WAS better. I completely believe it has to do with being home on the weekend and messing with my schedule plus dealing with boredom and head hunger.

Don't get me wrong, I am still really wanting some real food, but as long as I stay busy I'm okay. And I know I'll make it through. Thanks for the encouragement! We can ALL do this!

So far the liquid diet hasn't been as bad as I was expecting. I had a board meeting tonight at a Mexican Resturant. I drank my Atkins shake on the way to the meeting. When the waiter took my order I told him it would probably be the strangest request he ever had, but could I just have the broth from the taco Soup and have it strained. He brought me a bowl of clear broth that tasted great, plus it was one of the cheapest meals I have ever had. : )

We can do it, just one more week till our "Band Day".

I'm supposed to start the liquid diet on Friday. I'm starting tomorrow (Thurs) big whoop, one day, but I cant' stand myself anymore. I'm so ready for this journey to start. I've been talking about it constantly with close friends and family (not telling most people), and now it's time to stop talking and start doing something!

Less than a week until our band day, TODAY is the first day of the rest of my life.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
