OK, I am 6 days into 14 day liquid preop diet. Prior to this I drank only pepsi. Really no Water....I know that is terrible but I have to be honest. I dropped it cold as I am not about to do anything that doesn't agree with the Doc's instructions. When I first started to drink crystal light I struggled to get 2 Water bottles in a day, today I can't get enough have gone through 3 of them and will do another 2 or so before I go to bed.

What's the deal, does your body actually crave more water when you begin drinking it? I'm not complaining as obviously it is good for me but not what I was expecting....I thought I was really going to struggle and miss my soft drinks....so not turing out to be the case.

Am I weird?:rolleyes2:

It is true, the more Water you drink the more you want. I don't know why but I can go days on coffee, diet pop, juice and then decide to drink water for a few days and I just keep drinking more and more! I don't miss the coffee, diet pop or juice! Weird, but your not the only one....

I quit cokes and most everything several years ago, and pretty much only drink Water. I do crave it, and my body tells me when I haven't had enough. Once your over Pepsi, try going with more water and less of the added things.. You'll be suprised just how much you don't miss all the added stuff. Actually now I can't drink a coke.. it makes me feel bad! And this is from someone that thought Breakfast was a coke and a cigarette!!! Gave up cigs 10 years ago, and cokes about 13 years ago!

Yep, your body craves Water the more you drink it. I stopped drinking Diet Coke about a month ago and haven't really missed it. I tasted DH's the other night just to see what I was missing and I realized it really wasn't much at all. I'm saving money by not drinking it too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
