xray1028 0 Posted April 16, 2008 Well I had my first fill today. At first the nurse didn't think I needed one since I was doing so well with the just the band. I told her I was hungry and needed it for sure. Well after several tries and an hour and half later they had to bring in the Ultrasound machine to locate my port. By this time I am a little nervous thinking it flipped or fell off or something. Finally after using ultrasound and attempting about 3 more times we were able to access my port. He put in 3ccs of saline. I am hoping that this works and I start having restriction again. They promised me that next time I go in it won't take that long. :rolleyes2:
k_podski 2 Posted April 16, 2008 eek! what an experience! I hope you get some restriction from the 3cc's, you sure deserve it! :)Kerri
sharona 2 Posted April 16, 2008 I'm sorry you had that experience. I had my fill today also 2.5 cc in my 10 cc band. It went smoothly. I don't think what you went through is the "norm". I too am looking for better restriction. Although I did lose 4 lbs since last visit 3 weeks ago so I'm happy. My next fill is May 22nd.

SpecialK 22 Posted April 17, 2008 Wow. I've never read anything like that. Our doctors all do the first fill using Flouroscopy so they know exactly where the port is. After the first fill, then I think they can judge better how to find the port. I get my first fill April 29 and I definitely need it as I'm getting hungrier each day trying to stay at the same low level of calories. I'm committed but it is work and toughing it out.
