Things I won't/don't miss about being Obese

Recommended Posts

Great thread, by the way...

-having to buy HUGE underwear...looking forward to thongs only!!!

-hating myself and my lack of self-esteem...

-definitely won't miss the "pretty face" remark.

-only the OLD AND creepy guys eyeing me...looking forward to all of the sexy ones wanting me again...and making all of the females in the room envious of me.:)

-being too tired to clean my house and play with my kids.

-being the shocker of the reunion that I got fat and no one wanting to bring it up but says wow Jamel, you look so different...uh... did you change your...uh...hair...(I can only imagine what they are actually thinking...)

-Definitely the tummy smile...!!! --Thanks for that one by the way.

-my own current reflection in ANY mirror.

-not only my clothes sizes growing constantly but my shoe size also.

-my breasts hanging to my waist.

-my booty looking like "two huge hamhocks...".

-my twin...(seeing as how I am more than double my "ideal" weight).

You are my people! I won't miss--all of the above--and:

*Skipping class reunions because I don't want classmates seeing how fat I am;

*Hating to stand on the scale at the doctor's office;

*Seeing my (long deceased) mother's disapproving look as I buy slacks in ANOTHER size larger;

*Sleep apnea, arthritis, high blood pressure, and skating very close to diabetes;

*Spending my precious life energy agonizing over the size of my body.

I'm reviving this thread because I've thought of another thing (now that I've lost 40 lbs) I won't miss. It's probably a bit embarrassing for most to talk about but I'm sure some of you will can sympathize.

Having to literally sit on my hand after going to the bathroom to be able reach my "backside" in order to wipe.

Here's my list of what I won't miss....

-Pain on inside of thighs when wearing skirts

-Wearing the same pants to work b/c they are the only ones that fit

-Sitting in seats next to people and spilling over the seat

-Buying shirts way too big just to fit my arms in them

-The "pretty face" comments

-People asking if I'm having a baby

-Feeling uncomfortable when I sit down because of my big belly

-Not being able to wear high heels for normal periods of time

-Hurting my belly and losing my breath when tying shoes

-Not being able to polish my toes comfortably

Oh how I love this thread!

I am NOT going to miss:

*My thighs rubbing together and having to use baby powder or body glide all the time.

*Snoring - and being embarrassed to split a room with my girlfriends on a trip.

*Not having enough energy.

*Getting out of breath walking up the stairs.

*Only being able to walk .5-1 mile at 2mph on my treadmill in 30 minutes.

*not being able to wear cute clothes

*not being able to wear really cute shoes

*having my feet hurt all the time.

*worrying about the example I'm setting for my daughter

*not being as active as I'd like

*not being smokin' hot

*not being great in bed because I'm self conscious about my body

*feeling unattractive

*not being as strong and flexible as I'd like

*asking for a seat belt extender on the plane

*not being able to wear sleeveless shirts (after I hit goal, ps here I come!)

*getting rashes under my arms and breasts

*stress incontinence

*lack of muscle tone

*worrying about how I'm in the fashion industry and I don't look the part

*not being able to shop at Victorias Secret

Always ;-)

. having my feet not touch the floor when I sit on a chair because my a** is so big it raises me up; same thing in the car--I sit up higher than my 6'3" husband because of my big butt -- and I'm 5'4" eek.gif

. not having a neck

. I have trouble playing my flute because my boobs are so big.

. I won't miss hating myself when I go to bed at night because of what I've eaten that day

. I hate having men ignore me because I'm fat

I'm not banded yet but these are good reasons to have hope. I'm still worried my drive to eat will overcome the help the band could give me...

I love this thread!!! So many people could never even understand this stuff and I agree with all of your lists. I will never miss people asking when my baby is due. Although, a few times I have actualy had the guts to say, "Oh no, I'm not pregnant. I'm just fat." I thought a few people would stroke out trying to think of a gracious answer.

I will also not miss my daughter getting made fun of at school because her mommy is "as big as an elephant." Seeing her get hurt over my fat was one of the worst moments of my life.

I won't miss

- Screwed up TOM

- Horrible rashes from my fat rolls

- Pain in my back and legs

- Swollen ankles

- Struggling to paint my toenails

- Struggling to put on shoes

- Buying the biggest size of clothes and them still being snug/tight on me.

- Barely fitting in a seatbelt of any car

- The laughing and giggling when I walk by

- The looks I get

- Getting looked over for jobs

- Not fitting in chairs

So so so so sooooooo many things

Wow this list could go on forever...

I love this thread almost as much as I love the Before/After Pics thread!!!

I will not miss....

rolling off the couch.

my car leaning to one side and bouncing up/down as I get in and get settled.

the sinkhole that I create every night in my bed.

wearing out clothes, shoes, and toilet seats within in a year of purchase.

feeling like I am 65yo in a 36yo body (or is it the reverse?).

the way people look at me when I eat.

the quantity of space that I consume.

my chest rolling into my chin when I lay down.

the sweating in between my thighs when I wear a skirt.

the price of plus size clothes.

waddling.

entering a building with mirror windows and being ashamed to look at myself.

the swelling in my legs.

the fear of being diabetic like my mother and her mother.

constant fatigue.

sitting sideways in chairs with arms.

having only one or two pairs of shoes to wear and insisting that they have shock absorption.

the size of my arms.

the size of my front end load.

Yes, this thread is quite inspiring. I also hate those buildings with mirrored windows, ewwy.

omg I missed this one...I definetly won't miss things like that. Like small stalls when the handicap stall is occupied. And low toilets and toilets with really small seats.

Lane Bryant

I won't miss shopping from the Lane Bryant/Woman Within catalogs because even the clothes at the Lane Bryant store don't fit anymore.

Another thing....I won't miss how the furniture sinks in when I sit on it. I have a sofa, loveseat, and chair. I have to constantly rotate where I sit so I don't ruin the furniture.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
