Yep, I have one living here too. It freaks the dogs out. How gross is that. Seriously. From what I've read, it doesn't get much better, either.

It doesn't seem to make much difference whether I've eaten or not. Actually - the more I think about it, it seems worse a few hours *after* I've eaten, rather than on a completely empty stomach.

Maybe some 'veterans' have ideas?

Heheh - I know how you feel! I don't know if it is the same for everyone, but for me it settled down after about 6-8 weeks out from the op. I'm just over 4 months out now and, while it growls now and then, it's not anything like it was in the first several weeks. I tried to take the attitude that every time it growled, it was my band telling me it was hard at work and I would smile thinking of where I was hoping to be one day. Of course, my work doesn't require me to be in meetings with lots of people very often, so that's easy for me to say

I am not on an all liquid diet I have just changed the way I eat all together since I am getting ready for surgery next week. My stomach growls all the time too although it's not that loud I guess to get embarassed over but it growls.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
