I guess u can cal this a NSV.. I am now 6 weeks smoke free. Had my last cigarette night before surgery. Havent touched them since. I also joined the gym and have been going up just about every day and working out. I am amazed that I am not getting winded or super sore from the work outs and that i feel amazing after I am there...I am loving this band more and more every day

Congrats to all on their victories!!

I've had a pair of denim capris that I've been wanting to wear, they are size 18. Needless to say they've been too small. So, this morning I thought I'd try again. I almost didn't because I didn't want it to ruin my day if I couldn't get them on, but woohoo, they fit!! And they are very comfortable, not at all tight. What a relief! I love that I have things I can wear again. Hallelujah for non scale victories!!! :cool2:

I thought I'd revive this long dormint thread. I know a lot of fellow Avengers have been struggling lately (me included)...let's not forget our NSV's...sometimes they are more important than those all important numbers we seem to focus on:

My NSV for this weekend...this is kind of odd, but I could pee "hovering"...You know when you were a kid and your mom put 10,000 sheets of toilet paper so you didn't 'catch' whatever was left from people before you...as you grew you learned to 'hover' over the nasty public restrooms to avoid touching anything. Well - at the fair last night I was lazy and didn't feel like peeling the toilet paper from the roll (it wasn't cooperating). I thought, I'll hover. Damn it worked! My thighs were strong enough to hold me up. I was so proud of myself. I bet the women in the restroom waiting in line (there were about 50) were wondering why I was smiling when I left. DH even asked what I was smiling about when I came out. I told him I hovered and explained what that was. We had a good laugh together. I love NSVs!!!!!!!!

Now that's one NSV I've never considered. But I have to say, I'm so happy not to have to scout out the stalls to find the BIGGEST one anymore - It feels good to fit into a normal stall (instead of the handicapped stall) and still be able to wipe!

I realized recently that I didn't have to have the steering wheel at the most up-tipped position and the seat as far back as possible to fit without hitting the wheel. I love it! I can even fit in the back-seat belts now!

NSV's are the sweetest things - they are so much more real that looking only at the numbers!

Alright...I'll bite too!

A month ago I had to buy new jeans...size 20. I was completely unfilled the entire month of September and didn't lose a single pound. BUT! 3 weeks later I had to buy a size 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO! I am fully, officially out of the 20's. Forever!

I know I still have so far to go, but WOW and YAY for me! Must be all the exercising I'm doing!!!

While in Memphis this past weekend the group I was in (7 in all) decided to take a horse and carriage from Beale Street back to our Hotel. We went to board and the driver looked at me and my SIL (which is skinny) and said the smaller people need to get in first and sit to the outside. He was looking at me? Smaller? I looked around me and yep I was the second smallest in our group (other than my 12 year old nephew). I was so happy. Six months ago I would have been the second largest!

I forgot to mention my nephew got to drive. We stopped for me to get a picture of him driving. Well he forgot to check if I were back in the carriage and took off...I was hanging there with a foot in the stirrup/step and one holding on telling him to "STOP I'm not in yet"...I know I couldn't have held up my weight pre-band. I wouldn't have been able to get in and out without someone pulling from the front and pushing from behind. And thanks you guys!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
