What if I CANT stop losing weight.

Recommended Posts

I know the ultimate answer is go get unfilled which I would do if needed. I guess I am trying to gauge how likely that is going to be for me. I have always assumed that my fills would be based on no results but at the rate I am going I will have dropped 80 pounds in 6 months. My calculations show that I will be 200 pounds (Male) on a 6'3 frame and under 20% body fat. I know it is not a terrible ordeal to be in but it is in the back of my head that I start to look survivor show skinny in the next couple of months. Is there anyone that has hit this level of weight.

I am kind of in the same boat. I lost 90 pounds in less than 8 months and now am trying to STOP without adding crap back into my diet. I went to a nutritionist, but what she gave me just doesn't work with my lifestyle. So I figure this is like every other part of the journey...you have to figure it out for yourself. I am getting a complete unfill on Friday but that is more because I am WAY too tight right now and I have to be completely unfilled for my TT anyways.

I do think it is kind of a terrible ordeal. I have been finding that maintenances is much harder and takes more thought than losing. I know how to do 2 things when it comes to weight...I know how to gain and I know lose...maintaining is something I have NEVER done before!

Good luck and try not to get survivor skinny!

I don't know how close to goal you are, but in all honesty, unless you're pretty close, I wouldn't worry about that just yet. It's likely that your weight loss will slow as you get closer to your goal weight.

No worries!

A friend of mine who had gastric bypass (actually both of them) had that same concern but their bodies just settled into a spot that it was happy and now they don't even give it a second thought.

Hopefully everything goes well - you are looking and doing fantastic.

Agree, I should hit goal in the next 45-60 days assuming 200 pounds is the goal mark. What your goal should be is a whole separate issue for me as well. I am a little relieved to see that Salsa has the same concerns. The last thing I want to do is get on this website and complain that I am to skinny. If you look at the before and after pictures thread you can see that I am not bone skinny yet and that there is still weight to lose. My guess is I have 20 pounds of weight left and then the muffin belly will be gone. Now I could be surprised and my head lose the weight or my feet get smaller but right now the belly seems to be the last village to conquer.

I am FAR from skin and bones, but I am very comfortable at my size. I am having a TT in July so I will lose the rest of my problem area. My goal weight was actually increased by 10 pounds until the TT. Then I will reevaluate. I hate the scale...don't get me wrong, I am addicted...but I still hate it. I have decided that I don't care what it says. I can get into size 6 clothes...Even if the BMI chart says that I am still overweight...I think the size 6 says I am not! It is all about being comfortable AND healthy. I was NEVER comfortable at a size 24 and 250 pounds!

My body settled naturally where it is, the weight loss just kind of faded out. Actually, I'd like to lose a bit more, lol so I have the opposite problem but I seem to refuse to face the obvious - go get another small fill. I just dont want to be tight now, when I got all the way to a healthy weight without having to be. I figure what I lose now is under my own steam, without any more help than the band already gives me.

So you might just find it slows and stops and if it doesnt, unfill. Its so true that we all have to find out own happy medium there. For me, maintenance takes no thought whatsoever, for others its harder to stop losing.

Don't worry..but I know it's hard not to.

Many go thru the same thing you are and we've all found what works for us.

I passed my goal weight and about 10 pounds later started worrying. I increased my calories and ate freqently but the pounds kept dropping. But it was slow weightloss and it's not going to hurt anything.

When you go on maintenance it does take time to find the right balance between the band and you. Just like achieving restriction takes a few fills, likewise maintenance may take a few unfills.

Congrats on your weightloss!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
