Hello everyone!

I'm new to this forum - but not so new to my lapband. I was banded 10/23/07 and had my 3rd fill yesterday - not sure what I'm up to in my band because my doctor doesn't like to tell you the amount he puts in. I know I'm really full and so far only warm things like coffee and Soup are actually going down. I've lost 27 pounds so far - I have a goal of 70. I did this for my health, my son, my family. I LOVE my life and I plan on being around to enjoy it for a long time - without the health problems associated with obesity.

I'm so glad to have found this new 'home'. I look forward to meeting all the veteran-banders and learning all the tricks and tips.

Jenn:smile2:

I do eat salads some - not much though. And I chew, chew, chew the heck out of everything.... The secret for me is to take a smaller bite and that's hard because I'm always in a hurry and having to eat in a hurry. And that leads to a PB everytime.... I was instructed to chew till it's the consistency of apple sauce.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
