Recommended Posts

I was so sick the past few days...

Started throwing up everything on Friday, Felt better Saturday a.m. But was in bed by mid afternoon, feeling nausous. Sunday a.m. was okay and again by mid day, YUCK more throwing up.By 9pm, had my hubby bring me tothe ER, as I felt as if I had barfed up all above the band & felt like anything below the band wanted to make it's way out. I was scared all the heaving & retchingwould cause my band to slip or something. After Xrays & blood work-both looked normal :huh2:; 2 saline IVs with Benedrile & something for the nausea, I went home wth a routine for Mirolax & antiausea perscrip, that was after 1 a.m! Next morning, felt a bit better, slept until 4 in he afternoon. Started slow with part of a Protein Shake, later a bit of Soup & Water. Gonna start from the beginning...liquids, mushies, etc. Yikes...not a fun weekend!

Was banded Dec 20 2007. Had my first fill on March 11 2008. I think it may have been a virus...I work with small children, lots of germs with all the hugs...lol

mnilene:laugh:

If nothing else...got me in the 100's(199)...finally broke 200 mark!

Congrats being in wonderland, but sorry you were sick. Oh you poor thing. I hate throwing up. Ugh. Not that anyone likes it, but still, it sucks. Glad you are feeling better.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
