Roller coasters?

Recommended Posts

We are going to Florida next month and will be hitting some of the parks at Disney & Universal. I will be 3 months postop at that time, is it safe to go on the roller coasters and jarring rides at that point? I plan on asking my doctor about it when I get my next fill but I would also like some BTDT opinions as well. It would not be the end of the world if I skipped the rides, I would rather protect my band, but if it is safe, then I am going.

Please let me know what your doctor says. I am getting banded May 9th. I miss roller coasters. I haven't been able to ride for a year or two because the chest harness can't close over me anymore, or if it does, it's SUPER uncomfortable. So I just avoided the humiliation and didn't ride but Lord I miss it.

I agree, I love roller coasters but have avoided them for the last few years because I didn't fit. That is one of the things I am looking forward to.

I was in WDW two months post op and had absolutely no problems with Space Mountain, Expedition Everest or BTMRR. I even found that I fit into the cars on Space Mt. a little easier :)

Hello all,

Well I guess you get the privilege of being my first post on these message boards.......My wife and I had our bandings done in Jan. 08. We just returned from a trip to Orlando March 29 and had a blast. The only problems we had from any of the rides was just a slight tenderness where the port is. I guess from leaning against the restraints of the rides. I say ride anything you want. Enjoy yourself.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
