Has anyone been told by friends they to thin

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been told by their friends (who are bigger than them note )that you are too thin, you dont need to lose weight when you have not even reached the weight for your height - I am 32 lbs from the weight i should be for my height -- i only get these comments from other females, the male friends all say you are doing well you just have a little more to lose.

Nope. Surprisingly, I've only been told here that I'm anorexic. By peopel who've never even clapped eyes on me.

IRL I look quite normal, could probably lose a little more in fact. People who didnt know me before just assume I've never had a weight problem. People who did know me before say I look great, I must be really happy with what I"ve achieved.

Nobody's ever said I'm TOO thin.

Are you too thin?

No?

Then don't worry about what other people say.

Hear, hear.

People who knew you before surgery are probably goig to think you look too thin. They are so used to seeing you obese that once you drop a significant amount of weight you look "normal" to "thin" to them.

No one has said I'm too thin, but more increasingly people are making comments like "you're wasting away, or you're getting really skinny, or are you done losing weight yet". I find it incredibly rude to be honest coming from the random people at work who choose to keep saying things like that to me. They're not friends, and not even people I work directly with. Its none of their business why or how I lost the weight and its my business and mine alone if I want to lose more, because I am actually still overweight! I just kind of look at them like are you effing kidding and walk away. Funny thing is I've only lost about 10 pounds since Last December, and I've gotten the most comments since then.

Its like me telling them they need to stop being ugly or lazy or something like that, which I would NEVER do because my mother taught me manners and how to mind my own business. Theres a line and people never seem to amaze me how they cross it when it comes to this subject.

Its funny that I read this thread...I am a huge Biggest Loser fan, and the season finale was on Tuesday night. They had their first female winner (you go, girl) and I made the comment to my mom that she (the winner)was 'way too skinny'. I think it was the drastic weight loss she had and the constant before and after pictures they were showing. She went from 234 to 122 pounds in 6 months.

I wish.

Maybe next year...or the year after.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
