Birth Control

Recommended Posts

As with most females of age Id assume everyone had to get on birth control for the surgery.. i did anyway hehe

anyways i got this new kind called seasonale its 3 months of pills then you know what i feel kinda weary about going back on BC but i know it has to be done!!

But anyways anyone have any experience with this seasonale stuff?

i was kinda bumed to find out my insurance copays made me pay $90 because it was 3 months worth instead of my normal $30 copay =( but other than that it kinda makes me excited to know that with the surgery my chances of concieving are better!! YEY! (we tried 3 years.. one year on clomid) sooo hopefully ill be able to pop a few lil ones out in a couple years!! =P

My doc told me they originally called the lap-band the fertility band because so many women were getting pregnant after getting the band. I guess that is why some docs recommend birth control until a healthy and stable weight can be achieved. This is one of the major reasons I got the band. WARNING: BOYS LOOK AWAY! I haven't had a regular period since high school and even on birth control to regulate them they were not coming but once every few months. Now with just the small amount of weight I have lost I have become regular again, unfortunately too regular, I got cramps back also that I haven't had in years. I am hoping this means a better chance for pregnancy when I am ready for it since there was no way I was going to start my pregnancy at 275 and chance the health of my baby. When I hit goal or at least close to goal I plan on trying for the first time!

Good luck with you loss and trying for a baby!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
