suzannety 0 Posted April 12, 2008 I had my surgery three months ago and I remember the gas was bad, but I was able to pass it. My DH has surgery yesterday (Thurs) and he is in terrible pain from gas and unable to pass any, none. He uses the breath thing for deep breaths, GasX and we walked a bunch today trying to get relief, nothing works. Any ideas?
AZnikki 0 Posted April 12, 2008 I used a heating pad and drank lots of hot tea. The heating pad was wonderful...didn't help me pass gas, but it helped break up the air bubbles.
tinydancer 0 Posted April 12, 2008 I have to agree with the above post. My heating pad helped me TREMENDOUSLY. Also, don't know if it would work for anyone else, but when I would lay on my back with my feet flat on the bed (Knees pointing up to the ceiling) it seemed to help the gas pass (pardon the pun) through my system faster. Also at the hospital, they just kept telling me to belch to relieve the pain. Bless him. Hope he feels better soon!
