Am I right on track???

Recommended Posts

This is my first day I can eat after my first fill. I ate some Protein ceral this morning, had a Protein Drink and just had a South Beach Diet pizza for my lunch/dinner. My question is, is this what I should be eating after a fill or am I eating too much? I am full after this mini pizza and that will be it for the rest of the day except for a protein drink later on and my crystal light drinks. I am just not sure what to expect after a fill as far as what I can eat and how much. I am full and not hungry at all but I was suprised that I could eat the whole pizza although it did take me quite a while to eat it. Any input would be appreciated.

The doctor told me to do the South Beach Diet. I am NOT A COOK, so I bought the frozen dinners. It has 340 calories and 37 g of carbs and that is my lunch/dinner. Is that OK???

Please let me know if I am on the right track? I know that some of you bandits that have lost 50-60 or more pounds could give me a sample of you daily food intake. I have no one to learn from except this board.

My doctor tells us to eat 75% Protein and 25% veggies and fruit.

I eat a lot of fish. I buy those chickens that are already cooked and I can get 4 meals out of one. I eat salad with chicken mixed in. If I eat a South Beach

meal, I eat the one that's chicken and broccoli. It has like a spaghetti sauce

on the chicken and it's pretty good. I think it's 260 calories.

I hope this is helps. I don't eat any carbs other than weight control oatmeal before I go to the gym. I don't eat bread, potatoes, Pasta, etc.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
